Suburban Pittsburgh Stabbing: Latest Information

Here is what is known thus far about the stabbing of a suburban Pittsburgh woman.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A woman is in custody after a stabbing occurred in a Pittsburgh suburb on New Year's Day.

At 2:18 p.m., Allegheny County 911 was notified of the incident in the 200 block of Hugel Drive in Shaler. First responders found a woman stabbed multiple times. She was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.

According to county police, preliminary information shows the victim and another woman were involved in a physical confrontation near an apartment building parking lot when the victim was stabbed.

The altercation was triggered by an argument the two women had online, police said./p>

Shaler police took Shannon Marie Jennings, 38, of Shaler, into custody. She has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.

Jennings is being held in the county jail.
