Supercross Returning To Pittsburgh For 1st Time In 40 Years
The Supercross tour hasn't made a stop in Pittsburgh in decades. That's about to change.

PITTSBURGH, PA — For the first time in four decades, some of the world's premier two-wheel racers will be in Pittsburgh for a Supercross event. The competition will occur April 26 at Acrisure Stadium.
Even though the sport has been around for 50 years,Supercross has only been staged in Pittsburgh twice - in 1978 and 1983 at the long-gone Three Rivers Stadium. That makes Acrisure a first-time Supercross venue.
For the uninitiated, Supercross is an indoor dirt bike racing championship – a newer version of motocross, the sport's original form. But while motocross takes place on long courses built primarily on dirt and natural terrain, Supercross race courses are made from dirt hauled into stadiums.
