Veteran Pittsburgh Radio Personality Leaving Station

A longtime presence on a major Pittsburgh radio station has abruptly announced he is signing off.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A familiar voice on Pittsburgh radio is leaving one of the city's most popular stations.

Bill Crawford, a longtime co-host of the WDVE-FM morning show, announced on Wednesday that he is departing the station after 13 years. The reason: He wants to devote more time to his standup comedy act.

“Getting to be a part of the DVE Morning Show has been the absolute best thing that ever happened in my career,” Crawford stated on Facebook.” I can’t thank everyone at iHeart and all the incredible listeners enough for the opportunity and the support over the years. Hope to see yinz arahnd tahn!!”

Crawford has been part of the morning show team that includes primary host Randy Baumann, newsreader Abby Krinzer and sportscaster Mike Prisuta.

Baumann addressed Crawford's departure in an X post.

"Completely bummed about this but realize Bill's ambition and aspirations are in pursuing his comedy/standup career," Baumann wrote. "As I've always said he's one of the best in the country and he's gonna kill it but it's beyond hard to see him go. After all...'He's a DVE guy!'"
