The Waterfront To Hold Fall Festival, Great Pup-Kin Dog Race

Canines will wear Halloween costumes during the always-popular event.

HOMESTEAD, PA —The Waterfront has announced details of its upcoming Fall Fest and Great Pup-Kin Race in the complex's town center. The event will occur from 1 p.m.-5 p.m., with the race beginning at 2 p.m.

Families and their dogs are invited to the free event to enjoy seasonal activities and performances, including a pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, face painting, balloon twisting, and live music with House of Soul from 3:30 p.m.-5 p.m.

The registration deadline for the Pup-Kin-Race is Sept. 13. Owners must provide the following information:

  • Dog’s name
  • Dog’s weight
  • Dogs breed
  • Dog owner’s name
  • Dog owner’s phone number

Registration and participation are free, and all small dogs are welcome! Pups must be 25 pounds lbs. or less to participate in race and all dogs are required to wear pumpkin costumes. Participants will receive their free costume when they check in on the event day.

Only 130 dogs are accepted, so prompt registration is recommended. No day-of registrations will be accepted. Participants can email Emily Wittmer at ewittmer@wilkow.com to register their pups.

During the event, The Waterfront will be accepting donations for Jeremiah’s Place, a local organization that provides support and resources for children and families.
