Woman Dies, 2 Others Hurt In Parkway East Crash

PITTSBURGH, PA — A woman was killed early Saturday in a crash on the Parkway East. The wreck occurred in the westbound lanes of the parkway near the city's Oakland section.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, a sedan was speeding when it lost control and hit a barrier.

The front seat passenger in the vehicle died in the crash. She was identified as Brooke Howard, 20, of Pitcairn.

The rear seat passenger was seriously injured and the driver suffered minor injuries. The driver was intoxicated, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
