Woman Fatally Stabbed In The Chest In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA — A woman suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest in the city's Homewood West section Monday morning.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 6800 block of Lyric Street shortly before 5 a.m. Officers attempted to aid the woman until medics arrived, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said a possible altercation might have occurred before the stabbing.

The victim's name and age have yet to be released.

Police are processing evidence and reviewing video footage from the area.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
