It's Time for Rubber Duckies to Race Again

The Barrington Education Foundation holds its annual fundraiser next Saturday, Sept. 21.

The banners are up on County Road, and the Barrington Education Foundation will send hundreds of Rubber Duckies to the starting line for the annual fundraiser next Saturday afternon, Sept. 21. 

Yes, it's time for the annual Rubber Ducky race on Woods Pond just south of the Town Hall. The race got the official go-ahead from the Barrington Town Council at its Sept. 3 meeting. 

Race time is 3 pm but the festivities run from 2 to 4 pm outside the Barrington library. Click here to get more information on the BEF website or to print your own tickets.

Tickets are $10 each or 6 for $50. Each ticket purchased enters a bright yellow rubber ducky in the race. 

If your duck is plucked from the water after it floats across Woods Pond with some help from Barrington firefighters, you will win a prize. The first three ducks to make it across Wood’s Pond will be plucked from the water by Barrington Superintendent of Schools Mike Messore. Prizes this year include an iPad Mini, a Kindle Fire HD with a $50 Amazon gift card, and an iPod Touch.
