Councilman Farina to Make "Major Announcement"

"After much consideration, I have made a major decision that will allow me to better serve the people," the councilman said.

CRANSTON, RI—City Councilman Michael Farina is set to make a "major announcement" on Tuesday that he said "will allow me to better serve the people who have entrusted me to represent them on the City Council."

Farina, a Democrat, did not elaborate in a brief press release sent out Tuesday morning about exactly what the announcement might be.

Observers of the council over the past few years know that Farina has routinely butted heads with his fellow Democrats on the council and has often complained about being excluded from party strategy sessions.
