Cranston Man Survives Gunshot Wound to Head; Suspect Still At Large
Cranston police are investigating a shooting Wednesday night on Arcadia Avenue and said the incident was not random.

CRANSTON, RI—Cranston police on Thursday confirmed that they are investigating a shooting on Arcadia Avenue Wednesday night.
The department issued a press release that repeated most of the details Patch first reported Wednesday night: a city man suffered a gunshot wound to the head and and right arm and walked-in to Rhode Island Hospital shortly after gunfire was reported at 10:55 a.m.
Cranston Police Capt. Karen Guilbeault said in a release that the victims' injuries "were not reported to be life threatening.

Police found "physical evidence" in the area of 80 Arcadia Ave. relating to the shooting and the victim, who has since been released from the hospital was targeted and not shot in a random act.
The investigation is ongoing. Police have not identified a suspect.

Police said they got two call reporting what sounded like gunfire at 10:43 p.m.
The Providence Police Department got word that the victim came to the hospital at 10:55 p.m.
The victim told police that he was shot outside a nightclub on Niantic Avenue but later said that he was in fact shot outside his house after returning from the club.
Police said there was no evidence that the shooting took place on Niantic Avenue.
