Cranston Toddler, 2, Nearly Drowns In Pool Due To Neglect: DCYF

CRANSTON, RI — A two-year-old child nearly drowned in a Cranston pool over the summer, the Department of Children, Youth and Families reported Wednesday. Neglect contributed to the incident, the department determined.

According to the DCYF, the toddler nearly drowned in an above-ground pool at the family's home on July 19. While the department was previously involved with the family, it was not at the time of the incident.
