Johnston Police Identify Church Chalice Theft Suspect

Johnston police have identified David Ferrara, 50, of Providence, as the suspect in the larceny of several church chalices.

JOHNSTON, RI — Police have identified the suspect in the larceny of several chalices from Saint Rocco's Church in Johnston. David D. Ferrara, 50, of Providence, is being charged with stealing several priceless articles from the church around 1 p.m. Tuesday. He was identified as a suspect after police released surveillance photos from the incident and asked for the public's help in identifying him.

Thursday afternoon, police said they are working on drafting a warrant for Ferrara's arrest. Anyone who has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the police at 231-4219 or email tdwyer@johnstonpd.com or medwards@johnstonpd.com.
