Johnston Man Charged With Computer Crimes Against Child

JOHNSTON, RI — A Johnston man has been charged with committing internet crimes against a child. Robert Hogan, 37, was arrested Wednesday on charges of indecent solicitation of a child and electronically disseminating indecent material to a minor, according to the State Police.

Hogan was arrested by members of the State Police Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. After his arraignment at Third Division District Court, he was ordered $5,000 surety bail. As part of his bail conditions, he is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with minors. He was also ordered to have limited internet use. He was also held in jail for a probation violation.
