PROVIDENCE, RI — Police arrested a Johnston man they said shot and killed two Massachusetts men outside a Providence nightclub earlier this month.
Miguel Lacourt, 36, was captured Wednesday during a traffic stop in Johnston, WPRI reported. He was wanted on two counts of murder in connection to the deaths of Mario Diaz, 27, of Boston and Kerwins Pimental, 29, of Mattapan.
The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Aug. 7, outside the West Friendship Street club. The two victims were a group of about 10 people from Boston, celebrating a birthday at the club, Providence police said. At some point, a fight broke out between the group and others, police said, though it's unclear at this time if the two groups knew each other prior to the incident.
