Johnston Man Facing 5 Child Molestation Charges

Prosecutors say Dezmond Choquette, 22, molested a child five times between June 2015 and January 2023.

JOHNSTON, RI — A Providence Grand Jury indicted a Johnston man after a prosecutor accused him of molesting a child several times across eight years, a spokesperson from the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office said Monday.

Dezmond Choquette, 22, was indicted in Providence County Superior Court on Friday. He was charged with two counts of first-degree child molestation and three counts of second-degree child molestation.

Prosecutors said the molestations occurred between June 25, 2015, and Jan. 24.

Choquette is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 20 in Providence County Superior Court.
