Johnston Shooting Leaves 3 Dead, Including Suspect: Reports

JOHNSTON, RI — A shooting in Johnston on Wednesday morning left three dead, including the suspect, and injured another person, according to police.

Several news outlets reported the shooting happened around 7:30 a.m. on Ligian Court after a "neighbor dispute." Mayor Joseph Polisena Jr. identified the suspect as James Harrison.

"I was informed this morning of a triple shooting in Johnston," Polisena posted on Twitter. "I can now confirm the suspect has been apprehended and the danger to the public is over."

The victims' names have not been released. Patch has reached out to Johnston police and will update this story when we know more

Rhode Island State Police Col. Darnell Weaver told WPRI 12 Harrison was shot near the Johnston-Cranston line after driving away. A spokesperson for the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office said the office is investigating an officer-involved shooting. Further information was not immediately available.
