Rhode Island's 1st Ever Wingstop Throws Grand Opening Celebration In Johnston

JOHNSTON, RI — Wingstop celebrated the grand opening of its first ever Rhode Island location Tuesday.

The new restaurant is at 1501 Atwood Ave. in Johnston.

The first franchised Wingstop opened in 1992 and the company now has "more than 2,500 restaurants open across the globe," according to the Wingstop website.

And Wingstop already has plans to open another Rhode Island location.

"This opening marks just the beginning for Rhode Island with our next store in Rumford set to open later this year," Kyra Harberts, Wingstop's associate manager of public relations, said in an email.
