[VIDEO] Johnston Police Department Promotions and Appointment
Four officers attained new ranks, and a lieutenant from the North Providence Police Department joined the local force, during a ceremony held Oct. 5.

On Friday, Oct. 5, the Johnston Police Department promoted four officers, and welcomed a new officer to the local force, at a ceremony held in the Johnston Municpal Court.
Mayor Joseph Polisena administered oaths to Raymond Skomin, promoted to Major; Joseph Razza, to Captain; Seth Crosby, to Lieutenant; and Ptlm. Dana Gousie, to Sergeant; as well as former North Providence Police Lt. Richard Varas, appointed to the rank of probationary patrolman.
