13 RI Bed And Breakfasts Named Among Best In America, New Ranking Says
Newport in particular was well represented on U.S. News & World's list of the best bed and breakfasts in the United States.
NEWPORT, RI — A new report Tuesday named 13 Rhode Island bed and breakfasts among the best in the country.
In its 2025 Best Bed & Breakfasts, U.S. News & World report looked at more than 350 bed-and-breakfasts, inns and hotels across 17 cities and small towns. The rankings were based on U.S. News user research showing which accommodations would be of particular interest to travelers.
Here are the top 13 bed-and-breakfasts that made the list with a "Gold" ranking from Rhode Island. All of them are in Newport.

- The Francis Malbone House
- Forty 1 North
- Almondy Inn
- The Cliffside Inn
- Hydrangea House Inn
- Bouchard Inn
- Armistead Cottage
- Captain Simeon Potter House
- Serenity Inn Newport
- Beech Tree Inn and Cottage
- The Outlook Inn
- Town & Tide Inn.
“Bed-and-breakfasts offer local immersion, providing travelers with the personal connection they often crave,” Zach Watson, senior travel editor at U.S. News, said in a news release. “The 2025 Best Bed & Breakfasts rankings celebrate local establishments where hosts are unofficial guides, breakfast conversations reveal hidden gems and top properties play a part in each community’s story.”
The cities represented in the rankings also include Asheville, North Carolina; Bar Harbor, Maine; Boston; Burlington, Vermont; Cape May, New Jersey; Charlestown, South Carolina; Charlottesville, Virginia; Fredericksburg, Texas; Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; Key West, Florida; Lancaster, Pennsylvania; New Orleans; Portland, Maine; Salem, Massachusetts; Savannah, Georgia; and St. Augustine, Florida.
