2 More RI Beaches Close To Swimming Due To High Bacteria Counts

Beaches in Newport and South Kingstown close to swimming due to high bacteria counts.

NEWPORT, RI — Two more Rhode Island beaches closed for swimming Wednesday because of high bacteria counts in the water.

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) recommended the closure of Camp Fuller YMCA in South Kingstown and Spouting Rock Beach Association in Newport.

RIDOH officials said they will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout summer.
