2nd Newport Teen Charged With Assault On Special Needs Rogers High Student
The first 16-year-old was arrested Friday and the second Saturday.
NEWPORT, RI — A second Rogers High School student was charged with assaulting a special needs teen.
The second 16-year-old was arrested Saturday, the Newport Police Department said in a media release. The first 16-year-old was charged Friday, and police said he assaulted the special needs student on two occasions, according to the release.

The law learned of the first 16-year-old's assault after officers were "made aware of several cell phone recordings," police said.

The Newport Police Department emphasizes that bullying will not be tolerated or condoned in our community," police said. "All such acts will be investigated to the fullest extent."
