'Abandoned Dog' Found In Newport Park, Police Looking For Owner

A dog was left unattended and tied to a sign post in Braga Park near the Kay Street entrance, Newport police say.

NEWPORT, RI — Newport police are looking for a person they said tied their dog to a sign post and abandoned them.

On Monday morning, Newport police received a call about a dog left unattended and tied to a sign post in Braga Park near the Kay Street entrance.

"This dog is presumed to have been abandoned and the Newport police would be interested is speaking with the person responsible for leaving her there," Newport police said in a statement.
