NEWPORT, RI — High school football is back in Rhode Island this fall. Following a season that was postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and moved to the spring of 2021, the Rogers High School Vikings are back on the gridiron this fall.
The team's regular season begins Friday, with a home-opener against Middletown. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. See the full Newport football schedule below. Home games are italicized.
- Sept. 10: 7 p.m. vs Middletown High School (Non-league)
- Sept. 17: 6 p.m. at Lincoln
- Sept. 24: 7 p.m. vs Westerly
- Oct. 1: 7 p.m. vs Coventry
- Oct. 8: 6 p.m. at Barrington
- Oct. 15: 7 p.m. vs Moses Brown School
- Oct. 22: 7 p.m. at Tolman High School
- Oct. 29: 6 p.m. at Mount Pleasant High School
- Nov. 5: 7 p.m., TBD — Playoff
- Nov. 12: 7 p.m., TBD — Playoff
- Thanksgiving: 10:15 a.m. at Tiverton
