Newport Bridge Lane Closure Schedule: July 15 Through 19

NEWPORT, RI — Construction continues on the Newport Pell Bridge, and with it comes lane closures during Phase One. As August draws near, crews are getting close to starting Phase Two, which the Rhode Island Bridge and Turnpike Authority said will have more of an impact on traffic patterns.

Here's a look at the lane closure schedule on the bridge for this week.

Every day this week until Friday, the right lane will be closed on the eastbound side of the bridge from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Until Thursday, there will be alternating lane closures on the westbound side of the bridge for overnight construction from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m.

On Tuesday only, the right lane will be closed on the Eastbound side from 7:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.
