Newport Enacts Parking Ban Ahead Of Winter Storm
The National Weather Service said the chance of precipitation is 90 percent, with "new snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible in RI.

NEWPORT, RI — Newport city officials announced a parking ban ahead of a winter storm expected to arrive Saturday night into Sunday morning
The parking ban will be in effect from midnight to noon Sunday.
Newport residents can help plows do their job by pulling all trash and recycling carts away from the street, along with basketball hoops or other items that block the street. Also, do not blow snow into the street from driveways.

To help facilitate the city’s snow removal efforts, Newport residents are urged to take advantage of free parking at the Gateway Center, Mary Street, and Touro Street parking lots during the storm. Alternatively, residents are also encouraged to request the use of a neighbor’s driveway to secure off-street parking to keep vehicles off roadways.
