Transportation and Parking

The festival always draws massive crowds, so traffic should be expected. If you're planning on driving, leave extra time and be prepared to pay for parking at the fort. Since parking is limited, carpooling is highly recommended.

If you'd rather skip the traffic, there are several alternative transportation options. Newport's water shuttle carries passengers from Perrotti Park to Fort Adams, and boats will run continuously throughout festival days.

Festival attendees coming from Providence can also choose to take the Providence to Newport fast ferry, which runs from India Point and docks at America's Cup Avenue, about five miles from the fort.

More information about the artist lineup, safety information, vendors and more is available on the Newport Folk Festival's website.
