Newport Havurah to Hold High Holiday Services

The Newport Havurah celebrates the Sabbath and holidays with good food and a friendly, familial atmosphere.

NEWPORT, RI—The Newport Havurah, an Association of Reform Jews will hold High Holiday Services next month at the Newport Historical Society Meeting House at 82 Touro St., in Newport. No tickets are required to attend these services. The schedule is as follows:

Rosh Hashanah, Oct. 2-3

· Erev Rosh Hashanah, Sunday, Oct. 2, 7:30 p.m.

· Rosh Hashanah morning service, Monday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m.

Yom Kippur, Oct. 11-12

· Erev Yom Kippur/Kol Nidre, Tuesday, Oct.. 11, 7:30p.m.

· Yom Kippur, Morning Service, Wednesday, Oct.. 12, 10 a.m.

· Yom Kippur, Afternoon Service, Wednesday, Oct.. 12, 4:30 p.m. (Yizkor and concluding service).

· Break-the-fast, the afternoon service will be followed by a kosher-style potluck break-the-fast.


Parking for these services is available behind the Great Friends Meeting House, 21 Farewell St, Newport.


The Newport Havurah is a member of the Union for Reform Judaism. The Havurah celebrates the Sabbath and holidays through services conducted by members, with good food, and a friendly, familial atmosphere.
