Newport Police, Fire Holding Charity Softball Game For Local Food Bank
All proceeds will benefit the Hillside Charitable organization and the Three Angels Fund.
NEWPORT, RI — Want to see some live sports and benefit a local cause in Newport at the same time? The Newport police and fire departments will square off in a charity softball game on Sept. 22 at Cardines Field to help fight food insecurity locally.
Doors open at 5 p.m., and admission is open to the public. To attend, bring a canned food item for the local food bank or make a monetary donation. All proceeds will benefit the Hillside Charitable organization and the Three Angels Fund.
Before the game, the Audrain Automobile Museum will be down with some classic cars in the outfield to view from 5 to 6 p.m. First pitch will be at 6:30 p.m., and there will be free hot dogs, a gift card giveaway, a 50-50 raffle, kids games and other goodies for those in attendance.
