NEWPORT, RI — Newport police and fire departments have rescheduled their charity softball game to help fight food insecurity locally.
Originally, the game was supposed to be Thursday, but rain canceled it. Police on Friday said the game will now be played Tuesday at Cardines Field.
Doors open at 6 p.m., and admission is open to the public. To attend, bring a canned food item for the local food bank or make a monetary donation. All proceeds will benefit the Hillside Charitable organization and the Three Angels Fund.
