Newport: Rogers High Threat Under Investigation: Superintendent
Someone posted a threat to "shoot up Rogers High" on Snapchat during vacation last week. Police are investigating, the superintendent said.

NEWPORT, RI — Police are investigating a threat about a shooting at Rogers High. In a post on the district's webpage, the school department said Sunday the threat was posted on Snapchat during school vacation last week. Police searched the campus and found no weapons or additional threats. According to Newport police Lt. Frank Rosa, detectives don't have a suspect yet.
"Based on the Newport Police investigation, there was no credible threat established against Rogers High School nor was there a suspect developed in this incident for Rogers High School at this time," he said.
"The threat was for last week and did not happen," Schools Supt. Colleen Burns Jermain said. "We are pursuing this with the police and intend to take all necessary disciplinary and legal actions for the person(s) responsible."
