Not The Real Malcolm Butler: Newport Police
A Providence man gave Newport police the wrong name when officers asked him for identification, police said.

NEWPORT, RI—Here are recent citations and arrests. Information comes from the police log and arrest reports.
Shakeem D. Butler, 28, of Providence, was given a summons on April 2 near the ramp on Admiral Kalfbus Boulevard. He was a passenger in a car. Initially, he allegedly told police his name was Malcolm Butler, but the officers sorted out the identification. He was cited for marijuana possession, 1 oz. or less, by a person 18 or older.
Shydell D. Moore, 23, of Providence, was arrested at 2 p.m. April 2 on Jade Way. Police said he was wanted on two bench warrants from Newport District Court.

Bruce A. Silva, 22, of Newport, was arrested at home at 3:08 a.m. His roommate told police Silva punched him in the mouth. Silva was charged with Domestic Simple Assault or Battery and with Domestic Disorderly Conduct.
