October Newport Gallery Night Features Last Free Walking Tour of Season
Member galleries and museums will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to view Newport's local art scene.

NEWPORT, RI—The Newport Gallery Organization will be hosting October Newport Gallery Night on Oct. 13, featuring the last free guided walking art tour of the season.
Member galleries and museums will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to view Newport’s local art scene including wonderful exhibitions as well as artists demonstrating their work.
This month, Spring Bull Gallery welcomes four exciting artists featured in their new exhibition “Every Day Joy,” as each artist gains fulfillment and everyday joy from the process of creating work on paper, canvas, or from stone.

Elizabeth Lind will be demonstrating carving techniques on October Newport Gallery Night until 8 pm. The exhibition runs through October 31. Newport Art Museum will be hosting their popular “Art After Dark” event on October Newport Gallery Night, Thursday October 13. The museum will welcome the public until 9 p.m. with special programs, refreshments, and entertainment.
Jessica Hagen Fine Art and Design will be featuring a fall show with work from gallery artists and will be introducing two new artists as well, James Coe and Jefferson Haymen.

Deblois Gallery is mounting a fall show entitled “Inspiration, Imagination, and Storytelling”, featuring the work of Kathleen Morton, Elaine Aidinoff-Edelberg and Rita Honnen.
This month will also be the last month of the Newport Gallery Organization’s popular free guided walking art tours, and won’t return until May for the 2017 season. Three tours run throughout Newport Gallery Night. The first, starting at 5:00 p.m., begins at C.L. Sherman’s Gallery and will tour galleries located near Bellevue Ave. The second, starting at 6:00 p.m., will start at the Mariner Gallery and will tour galleries located near Spring Street. The final tour, starting at 7:00 p.m., will start at Arnold Art and will view galleries located near Thames Street. The public is welcome to join for any or all of the tours, meeting Sandy McDonald of Arnold Art, artist and tour guide at the starting gallery for each tour.
If you want to complete your night out to Newport, visit one of the many restaurants that collaborate with the Newport Gallery Organization by providing discounts and specials for all Newport Gallery Night visitors. Be sure to ask for a voucher at any of the galleries. Free parking is available at the Gateway Visitors Center and the Newport Art Museum.
