Rhode Island Named In Top 3 States For Health Care: WalletHub

RHODE ISLAND — Rhode Island is the third-best in the U.S. when it comes to health care, according to new data from WalletHub.

The personal finance website weighed 44 factors in determining the ranking, assessing the cost of care, accessibility, and outcome.

The Ocean State fared well in several key categories, including average monthly insurance premium, number of physicians and the number of people with insurance. Rhode Island's ranking in each is listed below:

• Average Monthly Insurance Premium: No. 9
• Hospital Beds per Capita: No. 19
• Physicians per Capita: No. 3
• Dentists per Capita: No. 10
• Percent of Insured Adults: No. 4
• Percent of Insured Children: No. 5
• Percent of At-Risk Adults with No Routine Doctor Visit in Past Two Years: No. 15
• Percent of Adults with No Dental Visit in Past Year: No. 1

Minnesota was ranked number one overall, followed by Iowa, Rhode Island, North Dakota, ad Utah to round out the top five. West Virginia, Mississippi, and Alaska were at the end of the list. The top 10 best states for health care are listed below.
