RI Weekend Weather: Snow But Too Soon To Say How Much, NWS
The National Weather Service's forecast is calling for snow, but the amounts are uncertain.

NEWPORT, RI—The forecast calls for snow Saturday night into Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service. But the amounts are still up in the air. The fudge factors include a possibility rain will wash much of the snowfall away.
"A lot of uncertainty remains regarding the amounts and potential for some rain to mix in along the coastal plain," the weather watchers said. But there is also a possibility part of the coast could collect snow measuring six inches or more.
According to the snow total map, Rhode Island is expected to come in for 3 to 5 inches, with Charlestown on the low end, and the rest of the state looking at five inches.
