Rotary Club of Newport Donates to East Bay Community Action Program

East Bay Community Action Program receives $1500 grant from the Rotary Club of Newport in support of 401Gives fundraiser.

East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is pleased to announce that it was awarded a $1500 grant by the Rotary Club of Newport. The grant is a Matching Donor Sponsorship for EBCAP’s 2024 401Gives fundraiser to benefit its Newport Family and Child Opportunity Zone’s (NFCOZ) Backpack Feeding Program. This program provides eligible Pell Elementary School students with weekly backpacks of food to eat on weekends when food can be scarce for families.

According to Debbie Baily, President of the Newport Rotary Club, the grant was awarded to EBCAP based on its relevance and impact to the community. She further explains that Newport Rotary receives an overwhelming number of requests, and this grant is a credit to EBCAP’s important services and programming.

The Rotary Club of Newport is a diverse group of business and professional leaders from the community who take an active role in their communities while also enriching their personal and professional lives.
