See The October Performance Schedule For The Newport String Quartet
The concerts feature works by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Dvorak, and Matsui.

NEWPORT, RI — The Newport String Quartet will perform two concerts in Newport County at the end of October.
Performances will be held in Newport and Jamestown. The concerts will feature works by Joseph Bologne, Clarice Assad and Felix Mendelssohn.
Composed in 1772, Franz Joseph Haydn’s six “Sun” quartets earned their nickname from the striking image of the sun emblazoned on the cover of an early edition. The Newport String Quartet will perform the soulful and surprising fifth quartet of the set — "Quartet in F minor."

The Newport String Project was founded in 2012. Its goal is to mentor youth musicians regardless of "generation, heritage, and economic circumstances" through free programs for ages 5 to 17.
