Spiced Pear, Muse Maintain AAA Diamond Ratings for 2016
The world-class Newport restaurants have earned the distinction of excellence for another year.

NEWPORT, RI—When people need a world-class restaurant with stunning food, few can deliver perfection better than Spiced Pear Restaurant in the Chanler at Cliff Walk and Muse in The Vanderbilt Grace, two hotels with overwhelmingly good on-premises restaurants that make staying in Newport delicious indeed.
They’re places a party can go and know that no choice will be a gamble, renowned for fine food and impeccable service.
That consistency has enabled each to secure AAA Diamond-ratings in 2016, joining just 682 other establishments throughout North America and the Caribbean.

AAA Northeast on Friday announced that the restaurants had yet again earned the mark, each enjoying streaks. At Spiced Pear Restaurant, they’ve been getting the distinction since 2002. Muse won the bag in 2012 and isn’t looking back.
“Contemporary restaurant enthusiasts are more educated than ever about food trends, preparation techniques and ingredient sourcing,” said David J. Raposa, AAA Northeast managing director of public affairs. “This raises the bar for today’s top chefs who attempt to achieve perfection with each offering. These top-rated restaurants meet that challenge and give their guests a memorable dining experience.”

Also earning Diamond-ratings this year are Gracie’s in Providence (first in 2011), and Seasons at the Ocean House in Watch Hill (2010).
AAA employs professional inspectors to conduct in-party reviews. The rating system “uses comprehensive, professional hotel and restaurant evaluations guided by member priorities,” according to a news release.
