University Orthopedics Elevating Orthopedic Care on Aquidneck Island

Continuing its commitment to providing state-of-the-art care University Orthopedics just opened a new 10,000 facility in Middletown.

University Orthopedics, one of the region’s largest, most comprehensive orthopedic practices, was joined by community leaders recently when it cut the ribbon on its new Aquidneck Island office in Middletown.
The 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility–located at 34 Valley Road–replaces the practice’s former Middletown office and boasts cutting-edge technology and modern treatment spaces with 2 X-ray rooms, 12 exam rooms, a dedicated hand therapy area, and a large physical therapy space.
“Cutting the ribbon symbolizes more than opening a new building. It represents a renewed commitment to the health and wellbeing of this community, to innovation in medicine, and to the enduring relationships we've been privileged to share with the people of Aquidneck Island over the last 25 years,” said University Orthopedics Chief Executive Officer Weber Shill, MBA. “We pledge to continue to earn the trust of our patients by delivering exceptional care, fostering wellness, and ensuring everyone who walks through our doors is treated like family.”

During the ceremony, Shill thanked Newport Hospital President Nicholas Dominick, Newport Hospital Chief Medical Officer Jeffrey Gaines, MD, and Newport Chamber of Commerce members for sharing the practice’s commitment to advancing healthcare on Aquidneck Island. He also thanked the many people who made the new location possible, especially University Orthopedics staff members.
“What truly brings the facility to life is the incredible team of professionals who work here,” Shill said. “Their expertise, compassion, and dedication are the heart and soul of everything we do.”
