Wayfinder Hotel In Newport Sees Full Reopen 2 Years After Massive Fire: Report

The Wayfinder in Newport was destroyed in a fire two years ago that led to the hotel needing a rebuild.

NEWPORT, RI — The Wayfinder hotel in Newport has reportedly reopened after a massive fire in 2022 destroyed it.

"You would have no idea it was engulfed in flames a little more than two years ago," owner Phil Hospod told WPRI 12.

The summer opening marked the hotel's full return, as just a portion of it was able to reopen last September, while crews worked to repair the lobby. According to hotel management, the next step in the hotel's recovery is the reopening of its restaurant, Nomi Park. The restaurant is expected to reopen in spring 2025.
