• Snow could cause slippery driving conditions this weekend (wpri.com) — North Providence drivers should be aware of a parking ban from 6 p.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday as light snow brings 1–3 inches and potentially slippery roads. RIDOT has already pre-treated highways and will have plows ready by 9 p.m. Saturday to keep travel as safe as possible overnight and into Sunday morning.
   

• Middle School wrestling: Westerly has three first-place finishers at Birchwood all-state tourney (thewesterlysun.com) — North Providence hosted the Birchwood All-State middle school wrestling tournament, drawing 30 programs from across Rhode Island. Westerly’s young squad made history with three individual champions and an eighth-place team finish, giving their coach confidence about the rest of the season.
