- On Friday morning, just before 9:30 a.m. Pawtucket police and fire, as well as the building inspector, responded to a call about 407 East Ave, which is a Lifespan facility that houses cardiovascular offices. When they arrived, they found concrete blocks had fallen from the side of the building. The building was evacuated and the gas was shut off. Reportedly, Pawtucket Fire Chief, William Conroy, told 12 News the damage is more cosmetic than structural. The cause of the collapse is under investigation. (WPRI.com)
- The Community Players presents 'Mamma Mia!' at the Jenks Junior High auditorium in Pawtucket through April 10 with director Terry Murray who has been an integral part of the theater program at Saint Raphael’s Academy in Pawtucket for many years, having directed and produced upwards of 50 plays. There is still time to see the show.(Valley Breeze)
- Using data from AAA and statistics gathered by Stacker on gas prices in the capital city and the surrounding area, on average the current price for a gallon of gas is $4.08. That is down about eight cents from the prior week and up an estimated $1.31 from this time last year. (What'sUpNewp)
- A video from David Letterman, thanking R.I. Hospital for taking such good care of him last summer after he fell, while taking a walk in Providence, has been posted on Lifespan’s YouTube channel. The comedian and former late-night talk show host tripped in the city last August when he was visiting Providence with his son. He was knocked unconscious and had to be transported via ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital. Letterman reportedly says in the video, "... I have nothing but lovely things to say and think about with regard to the Rhode Island Hospital and the emergency department. Thank you again to one and all.”(The Providence Journal)
