1. Pawtucket saw substantial population growth between 2010 and 2020, according to new census data, growing more than six percent and "helping to drive Rhode Island's surprising increases in counted residents." (Valley Breeze)
2. The Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church festival will be held in Pawtucket this weekend, Aug. 20-22. Last year's festival was to-go only due to the pandemic. (The Providence Journal)
3. A fire in a multi-family home on Burnett Street in Providence led to eight residents being displaced Wednesday. The cause of the two-alarm fire is under investigation; one firefighter was injured. (ABC6)
4. Pawtucket’s Parks and Recreation Division rescheduled its outdoor movie at Slater Park for this Saturday, Aug. 21. (Valley Breeze)
