Here are the top four stories in Pawtucket today:

  1. Milton Aponte, 43, of Pawtucket, awaits sentencing after being found guilty of first-degree child molestation, three counts of second-degree child molestation and simple assault. Aponte assaulted the girl from 2012 until 2018 when she was between 8 and 13 years of age, prosecutors said. She reported the abuse to the police in 2018. (CTPost)
  2. The Pawtucket Arts Organizational Grant program, which makes funds available to art-related 501(c)(3) organizations based in Pawtucket, has announced funding for two grant programs. The grants will be awarded to organizations specifically to assist with operating costs. Applicants must have the ability to provide year-round art-related programming for residents and visitors.   4. Currently with 96 classroom vacancies in Providence schools, the Providence Public School District has announced that it is now offering more incentives to fill positions, in its earliest-ever hiring process. The district is looking to offer sign-on bonuses of up to $10,000 for hard-to-fill positions, including multi-lingual and special education. (WLNE-TV (ABC6))
