  1. The City Council plans a special meeting on Thursday to discuss “building a $26-million public safety complex.” It “would accommodate all of the city’s public safety departments.” The city proposes using Federal ARPA funding to pay its share of the costs, with the state providing matching funds. The city anticipates spending $13 million of ARPA funds. (City of Woonsocket)
  2. The Krakow Deli Bakery & Smokehouse is now THE go-to place for dropping off donations benefitting Ukrainian refugees. The friendly staff members are “collecting hygiene products, blankets, baby clothing, diapers, underwear for women and children, over-the-counter medicines, as well as first aid kits.” We learned Tuesday that, as long as the war continues, the Deli will ship items to Eastern Europe. (ABC)
  3. The Wrentham Police Department confirmed Tuesday that a 25-year-old Woonsocket woman was killed in a crash involving two vehicles taking place early in the morning. A “heavily damaged Ford Fusion had collided with a tractor-trailer.” The other driver was not injured. According to investigators, she “was driving south on Route 1 when she drifted across the center line and struck the truck going north.” (WJAR)
  4. There will be an Easter egg hunt at the Rivers Edge Complex on April 9! It will be an interactive “drive-thru” for residents with children 13 and younger. “Valid ID with a Woonsocket address is required to participate in this free event.” The fun goes from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (@WoonsocketLib)
  5. Are you looking for a way to get your preschooler more involved in interactive reading activities? You’re in luck! The library will hold a Preschool Sensory Story Time on Monday from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. A second one will take places the following Monday, March 28. “Open to children of all ages, abilities and sensibilities with an adult caregiver.” (The Valley Breeze)
