- We learned Wednesday that Beacon Charter Schools have received the $95,000 grant they will use for “repairing and painting the First United Methodist Church property.” It moves the plan for creating the Beacon Charter Center for The Arts forward. The finished venue will seat about 300 and host “arts and entertainment events for both schools and other organizations in Rhode Island.” (WJAR)
- The Landmark Medical Center reports being near capacity. Wednesday’s reports show that 95.26% of inpatient beds and 100% of ICU beds are occupied. This influx of patients may cause the rescheduling of elective surgeries. (Patch)
- “Righting a Wrong: Japanese Americans and World War II” is the latest exhibit presented by the Museum of Work & Culture. It begins Thursday and runs through March 31. In addition to the Smithsonian poster exhibit, look for “a short documentary, musical reflections, informational videos, explanatory texts, illustrative graphic novel panels, a digital exhibit, visual art, and a book nook.” (RIHS)
- The Kartier Bar & Grill in North Providence can open at 1046 Charles Street and serve food and alcohol. However, the Town Council refused to give authorization for the venue to offer entertainment. That said, the business does have the option to request a reconsideration of the entertainment license after it finishes the location’s build-outs. (Valley Breeze)
- The business of the day is Timeless Antiques & Collectibles at 91 Main Street. Browse 3,000 square feet of antiques and collectibles. Examples include Murano glass, old tools, silver plate, vintage linen, costume jewelry, and more. (@WoonsocketRadio, @TimelessAntiquesCollectibles)
