- Various schools are switching temporarily to remote learning. Beacon Charter HS and Founders Academy Middle School will do distance learning from Tuesday to January 21. Others may follow suit. (Maya Chavez)
- Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt would like to turn Barry Memorial Field into a supermarket. Another project that she would like to see go forward is the fire hydrant painting. Besides that, there’s the need to demolish Dorado Processing on River Street and for a cleanup of Seville Dye on First Avenue. (Valley Breeze)
- Tasca Buick GMC at 55 Fortin Drive is a 2021 Dealer of the Year. It is also Woonsocket Radio’s business of the day. The dealership’s staff works hard to present an impeccable guest experience for shoppers. In addition, they look for ways to simplify service and finance. (@WoonsocketRadio, Tasca)
- The Woonsocket state-run COVID testing site opened on Monday at the Elks Lodge and will run seven days a week. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is a good idea to make an appointment. At the site, specialists will be “offering both rapid antigen and PCR tests.” Thank you to the Elks! (ABC)
- You can see the work of Syrian artist Khaled Alkhani at the Pawtucket Arts Collective. The exhibit begins Friday, but there will be a grand opening on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The La Beaute Sauvera Le Monde Art Club is putting on the exhibition (Valley Breeze)
