Fisher to Host 'Listening' Event May 23
Mayoral candidate seeks public input in campaign for city's top office.

Dave Fisher, Green Party candidate for Mayor in Woonsocket, will host the first in a series of public listening events at Harris Public Library May 23, 6-8 p.m.
Fisher said he'll use the event to gather input and insight from local residents and business owners on the future of the city.
“One of the key values of the Green Party is grassroots democracy,” says Fisher, “given our current situation in Woonsocket, it is more important than ever for people to get involved in the process.”
Fisher recently launched a website outlining four-point platform, including homestead exemptions awarded by length of residency, a 5-year inventory/tangible asset tax holiday, hiring a full-time grant writer for the city, efficiency/renewable energy upgrades for city buildings and promoting community involvement.

“I hope to see many of our residents and business owners come out to these events. It’s important to have a plan, but that plan needs to be guided and crafted by the will of the people," Fisher said in his release.
