While Woonsocket locals enjoy the holidays, a few brave men and women are serving their country overseas and won't be able to visit with their families.
The DVIDS (Defense Video Imagery Distribution System), which connects the media around the world with the military serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain, has released 5,944 video holiday greetings from soldiers abroad this year. Among them is Julie Gaulin, a major with the Air Force at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
