  1. Woonsocket Student Fight Update: A mother came forward on Monday, alleging that her son was attacked in the hallway and “not one teacher, not one principal, not one person did anything for my son to not continue to be attacked while he was down.” Also, while school officials went on record saying that no weapons were involved, she suggests that “the children used brass knuckles, a belt buckle, . . . and also a box cutter.” (ABC)
  2. The Museum of Work and Culture announced the expansion of “Woonsocket Proud, a three-part civic pride program that includes educational tours of the museum, an art initiative, and a gallery exhibit.” The facility will welcome 5th graders in public school as well as homeschoolers. If your child wants to participate in the art exhibit, please make sure to pick up and return the instructions by March 31. (The Valley Breeze)
  3. American Legion Post 85 at 870 River Street is planning to celebrate April as “Purple Up” month. It celebrates military children. The Post plans a month of fundraisers, with proceeds supporting “RI active-duty military children’s recreational activities.” The first one will be on April 2 at the post. It is a Purple Up! Ham Dinner running from 4 p.m. until they run out. (On Worldwide)
  4. The cost of gasoline is going down, but will this trend continue? In Rhode Island, the cost of gas is down 13 cents from a week ago, however, a Monday report proposes that fluctuations may be coming. They have to do with traditional driving patterns and actual demand for gasoline. (Patch)
  5. We’re in last place! RI was ranked 51st in the list of “best states to practice medicine.” It apparently has the highest projected competition by 2028 as well as the highest malpractice award payout amounts per capita. (Wallet Hub)
