  1. There will be an informational picket line in front of the Landmark Medical Center on Thursday. Saying that “Landmark Medical Center has forgotten the hard work and sacrifices given by the Landmark Healthcare Workers during the Pandemic,” picketers will be marching from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (@riaflcio)
  2. There was a residential fire Tuesday morning. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish a third-floor blaze. “The quick response from crews helped to keep the fire from spreading through the multifamily home on Loring Avenue.” (ABC)
  3. Thursday will be “the first public workshop for the update to the City’s comprehensive plan.” You can participate by coming to the Harris Public Library at 6 p.m. There will be “small group discussions to hear from people in Woonsocket about the things they most love about the City and the things they think should change in the future. Attendees are welcome to review materials and have informal conversations with City staff and the project consultant team from 7:00 – 7:45pm. Children are welcome. There will be a coloring and craft table to keep them occupied.” (On Worldwide)
  4. If you are a senior graduating from Woonsocket High School, Woonsocket Area Career and Technical Center, Mount Saint Charles Academy, or Beacon Charter High School for the Arts, you could qualify for a scholarship from the Autumnfest! You should be someone “who displays the love and passion for the community by the volunteer work they are involved in within the community.” Submit a 500-word-or-less introduction by May 1. (Autumnfest)
  5. Superintendent Dr. Patrick McGee weighed in on Monday on the school fights. He said that “the high school and the middle schools are working hard to solve problems before they start. We're trying to be proactive, but we need help.” “State nonviolence centers and local churches” are offering assistance. However, McGee “believes more parent involvement is also critical.” (WJAR)
