1. How are you coming along with participating in the state plate design contest? Remember that you only have until January 7 to finish a design and submit it. If you win, drivers could begin seeing your design right around the summer. (DMV)
2. The Ocean State Little Rhody Bottle Club plans its next meeting for January 11 at the Pontiac Free Library in Warwick. However, there is a bottle show planned at the Holiday Inn in Taunton on January 9. Whether you are a longtime collector or are just starting to dip your toe into the hobby, this is an event to attend! (Little Rhody Bottle Club)
3. Woonsocket ranks 8th among RI cities when it comes to rates of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population. The rate of deaths is 563 per 100,000. Hospitalizations for this number are up to 1,298. As of Friday, 61.3% of Woonsocket residents are at least partially vaccinated. (RI Health, 2)
4. Connecting for Children and Families in Woonsocket is now under the leadership of Erin Spaulding. She will officially take on her role as executive director on January 10. “Spaulding will replace Terese Curtin, who announced her retirement after 25 years this past June.” (Valley Breeze)
